HVAC-specific. TradeVan ships defaults built for a heating and cooling shop — equipment types (furnaces, condensers, mini-splits, water heaters, boilers, RTUs), a catalog seeded with realistic HVAC parts and refrigerant lines, checklist templates for spring AC tune and fall furnace tune, and seasonal PM contract shapes. If you run an HVAC business it fits out of the box. If you run a plumbing shop or a landscaping crew, the defaults will feel wrong and we'd rather you know that before you sign up.

What size business is it built for?

Solo contractors up to shops with about 25 employees. The product is priced and shaped for that range. If you're planning to run 50+ techs across multiple locations, TradeVan will feel too simple — you probably want an enterprise field-service platform even if it costs 10× more.

Why HVAC-specific matters (and when it doesn't)

A generic FSM tool treats a plumber, an HVAC tech, an electrician, a locksmith, and a landscaper as the same job with different words. It works — the mechanics of dispatching a person to an address and closing a work order are similar — but the model doesn't quite fit any of them. Every shop tunes the defaults, and every shop lives with a small pile of mismatches forever.

The catalog templates ship with the SKUs a real HVAC truck carries — capacitors at common ratings, contactors, 24V transformers, PSC and ECM blower motors, hot-surface igniters, flame sensors.
